Lactofoal precisely reproduces the characteristics of mare’s milk. The product is diluted with warm water and can be added to the foal’s daily ration during the first 2 months of weaning. It can replace or supplement breast milk. 

The formula is adapted to the specific needs of the foal : protein and fat levels specific to the equine species; optimal protein quality; supply of pro and prebiotics. 

When to use Lactofoal? 

It is useful in the case of an orphaned foal, insufficient lactation of the mare or the need for post-weaning feed. 

How to use it? 

You can add it to the foal’s daily ration during the first 2 months of weaning. Start with 500 g and reduce gradually.
In powder form you must dilute the product in lukewarm water and shake well so that the mixture is fluid.

• o Complete feeding with LACTOFOAL:
  Dilute 100 g of the product (2 scoops) in 1 litre of lukewarm water. Shake well to obtain a fluid mixture. Administer the milk to the foal at around 35°C. Milk prepared in advance can be kept for 24 hours in the refrigerator. The quantities to be given should be adapted according to the breed and health of the foal. Gradually adapt the quantities and frequency based on the instructions given below.

  o Day 1: 8L/day at a rate of 1 litre every 3 hours
  o Day 10: 12L/day at a rate of 2 litres every 4 hours or 25% of the live weight in reconstituted milk per day
  o 1 month: 15L/day at a rate of 3 litres every 5 hours

  Between the 3rd and 4th month, gradually switch to dry feed and wean the foal.

  o Post-weaning feed supplement for foals:
  Add 500 grams of LACTOFOAL per day to the ration and gradually reduce the doses.
